1998年に作曲・ギター・ボーカルを担当するDORA を中心に Overcoat’s を結成。 直後にデビュー・シングルとなる『Lonely Lonely Boy』を Three Nuts Label から発売。 以降も7 インチ・ヴァイナル、CD-R、マキシCD、カセット・テープといったフォーマット・メディアで作品をリリース。これらは現在、オークションなどで高値で取引されるなど、マニアやコレクターからの評価も高い。 2001年、吉野ももこ主宰レーベル Pirozhki Recordings を擁する UNDER FLOWER RECORDS より初めてのアルバム『AWESOME』をリリースし、活動を続けるも惜しまれつつ2006年に解散。2019年になり干支がひと回りしたところで解散時のメンバーが集まり、活動を再開した。 2022年、NG Recordsよりニューアルバム『9 numbers, Groovy!』をリリース。

In 1998, That group ""Overcoat’s” was formed by Dora, who is in charge of composition, guitar and vocals. Immediately after, the debut single ""Lonely Lonely Boy"" was released from ‘Three Nuts Label’. After that, They had released works on format media such as 7-inch vinyl, CD-R, maxi CD, and cassette tape. These are currently highly evaluated by enthusiasts and collectors, such as being traded at high prices at auctions. In 2001, They had released his first album ""AWESOME”. This record was released on the record label called ‘Piroshki Recordings’ presided over by Momoko Yoshino. This record label was part of the indie label ‘UNDER FLOWER RECORDS’. After that Group changed members and was still active after that. But in 2006, Overcoat’s broke up the whole world in shock. …And In 2019, 12 years later (just when the zodiac cycle turned) the last members at the time gathered and Overcoat’s plays again! In 2022, They had released a new album ""9 numbers, Groovy!"" From ‘NG Records’.

ギターポップ、アノラック・シーンに新星の如く登場したOvercoat's。2006年の解散以前にレコーディングされていた音源と新曲も詰め込み、驚きのニュー・アルバムが遂に完成！再出航！バンドの過去、現在、未来を紡いでカラフルにグルーヴィン！聴いてよし！歌ってよし！踊ってよし! 解散時のメンバーが集まり、コロナも挟んで十二年ぶりに再始動したオーバーコーツのニューアルバム！ オバコらしいギターポップサウンドの新曲から、解散以前にレコーディングされつつも日の目を見なかった楽曲、自主盤としてリリースされた今では貴重なシングル曲もリマスタリング収録。更にバンドのリーダーDORAがOvercoat's以前に活動していたPOMPS時代の曲を2020年代のデジタルな質感のアレンジで再録するなど、聴きどころ満載！！ レコーディング及び、ミキシング＆マスタリングにはくるり、浪漫革命、WANG GUNG BANDなどを手掛ける京都の鬼才エンジニア小泉大輔（music studio SIMPO）、ヴァイナル用マスタリングは『プロダクション・デシネ』の丸山雅生が担当。ジャケットデザインにアートフェア UNKNOWN ASIA でレヴュアー賞も受賞している伊東ユウスケを起用。プロデュースは奇才音楽家の安井麻人が制作にあたっているが、サウンドからデザインまでの全てをオバコのメンバーがこだわり抜き、関西出身のバンドらしく、関西に所縁のある要人に支えられて完成した。 ライナーノーツ、曲目解説をオバコの初期メンバーで、その後の活動まで見守る浅田裕基が担当している。 Overcoat'sの全史を俯瞰しながら、過去にとらわれない、未来へ向けたサウンドは、2022年、今、聴かれるべきマスターピース。（※本アルバムはダウロードコード付です。）

Overcoat's appeared like a rising star in the guitar pop and anorak scene. A surprising new album is finally completed, This songs are packed with sound sources that were recorded before the dissolution in 2006 and brand new songs for 2021 Re-departure! This record is a colorful grooving that spins the band's past, present and future! Listen! Good to sing! Good to dance! This album is the new album made for the first time in 12 years. They gathered by last members at the time and restarted with COVID-19 in between! Remastered recordings from new songs with a guitar pop sound that seems to be Overcoat’s, songs that were recorded before the dissolution but did not see the light of day, and now valuable single songs released as an independent board. In addition, Dora who is a band master has re-recorded the songs from POMPS era, which were active before Overcoat's, with a digital texture arrangement of the 2020s. This album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Daisuke Koizumi (music studio SIMPO). He is genius engineer, so he was working on ‘kururi’ and ‘Roman-kakumei’ and WANG GUNG BAND. And Masao Maruyama (production dessinee) is in charge of mastering for vinyl. Yusuke Itoh, who had won the reviewer award at the art fair UNKNOWN ASIA, is appointed as the jacket design. And then this album produced by the talented musician Asato Yasui, Overcoat’s was particular about sound and design, and completed this album with the cooperation of VIPs related to Kansai Area like a band in Kansai Area. In addition, Hiroki Asada was in charge of liner notes and commentary on the songs. He is an early member of Overcoat’s and will keep an eye on his subsequent activities. While looking down on the entire history of Overcoat's, the sound for the future that is not bound by the past is a masterpiece that should be heard now in 2022.
