Alan Kwan is recognized across the world as a multi-talented guitarist and composer with innate virtuosic musicality. Having garnered numerous international awards and nominations, these accolades are a testament to Kwan’s dedicated musicianship. Under Kwan’s leadership, the band Invisible Architecture, which debuted in 2021 with the album Between Now and Never, won the prestigious Golden Melody Award for Best Instrumental Album Producer and three other nominations. Kwan’s first album, Petrichor, also received three Golden Melody Awards nominations for Best Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Album Producer, and Best Composer (Instrumental Category). In 2024, Alan Kwan collaborated with Japanese pianist Masaki Hayashi to release the duo jazz album Liquid Sunshine, which was featured on Apple Music's editorial playlist for the Japan Jazz Scene.
Kwan performs and records with many of the world’s leading musicians including Billy Childs, Stefan Karlsson, Dayna Stephens, Fabian Almazan, Linda May Oh, Johnathan Blake, Orlando Le Fleming, Reuben James, Glenn Zaleski, Paul Bollenback, Rogerio Boccato, Kazumi Watanabe, Ono Lisa, Masaki Hayashi and Rich Huang amongst others. Kwan has successfully built a strong profile as a performer and is frequently invited to perform at diverse shows ranging from festivals, stage concerts to private shows in locations across the globe, including the U.S.A., Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. A number of these performances include, Montreux Jazz Festival China, Taichung Jazz Festival (main stage), Taipei Jazz Festival (main stage) and French May Arts Festival.
Kwan regularly conducts masterclasses in Japan, Mainland China, USA and Taiwan. He has been invited by the Musician’s Institute as a Visiting Artist for a Masterclass Series. He is also a close collaborator with instrument and gear makers, and is an artist for Eventide, JAM Pedals, Westville Guitars, Yamaoka Guitars, Stringjoy, Daiking Corporation and VEMURAM.Music for Kwan extends beyond categories; he has composed for several feature films and advertisements and his works have complemented visual art forms, too.

Born in Tokyo in 1978, Masaki Hayashi taught himself music theory from a young age. and learnt jazz piano, composition and arrangement under Masahiko Sato, Toshiyuki Otoku, Hiroko Kokubu and others. In December 1997 while attending university, Hayashi participated in a tour of Takio Ito & Takio Band in South America and started his career as a musician. Currently, in addition to his own composition and solo projects, Hayashi is also engaged in a number of groups, such as piano duet “のぶまさき” with Nobumasa Tanak, Sadao Watanabe ’s Quartet, "Salle Gaveau", and "Blue Note Tokyo All Star Jazz Orchestra".

Alan Kwan and Masaki Hayashi, longtime friends and musical collaborators, present an album born from spontaneous creativity.
