アカバネバルガーズオンストロングバイパスは、2005年結成、東京出身のガレージパンクバンドである。メンバーの3名、内薗有美(Guitar&Vocal)、内薗美貴(Bass)、祖父江渓 (Drums)は全て結成当初からのオリジナルメンバー。バンドは結成より勢力的にライブ活動を続けており、2012年SXSW(サウスバイサウスウェスト、テキサス)への出演を皮切りに、アメリカ、オーストラリア、イギリス、カナダなど海外に於いてもツアーを行っている。
バンド名は特に意味をなさず単純に言葉の響きやその長さを特徴とするものだが、ギターボーカルの有美がかつて言及したところによると、自分たちのインディペンデントな姿勢を象徴するワードとして「vulgar (バルガー)」を選んだとされている。メンバーたちのオープンな思想・クリエイティビティをvulgar「場末の」と位置付けることで、majority「大多数」の中に潜む排他的であったり批判的であったりする世間の勢力から明確に切り離し、バンドの態度を明確にするための言葉となっている。意思、自由、アティチュードは一個人に宿り、それらが尊重されるべく戦う必要があることもある、というコンセプトがバンドの持つ反骨精神のバックボーンとなっている。
バンドの音楽的背景の一つに、90年代における日本のガレージロックが上げられる。バンド最大の特徴とも言えるうねるようなグルーブは、メンバーの感情と一体となり観客を襲う。プリミティブなスリーピースから放たれる太いリズムアンサンブルは、彼女たちの音楽に稲妻のようなパワーを吹き込んでいる。
また彼女たちが創作に向かう際の、ジャンルに屈しない、というコンセプトもアカバネの音楽に独特なエネルギーもたらしていると言える｡ジャンルなどの音楽的知識を経て伝えるだけでなく、誰の作ったどんな音楽かを自分たちの方法で伝えるというアプローチで、ブルーズやロカビリーなどのオールディーズをベースとしながら、オルタナティブやヒップホップなど90年代をティーンとして過ごした彼女たちの感覚が鋭く楽曲に活かされている。

Akabane Vulgars on Strong Bypass is a garage punk band from Tokyo formed in 2005. All three members, Yumi Uchizono (guitar & vocals), Miki Uchizono (bass), and Kei Sobue (drums), have been with the band since its inception. The band has been actively performing live since its formation, beginning with an appearance at SXSW (South by Southwest, Texas) in 2012 and touring overseas in the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries.
The band's name has no particular meaning and is simply characterized by the sound and length of the word. However, guitarist and vocalist Yumi once mentioned that she chose "vulgar" as a word to symbolize their independent attitude. By positioning the members' open-minded thoughts and creativity as "vulgar," they clearly separate themselves from the exclusionary and critical social forces lurking within the "majority," a term that serves to clarify the band's stance. The concept that will, freedom, and attitude reside within each individual, and that sometimes it is necessary to fight for these to be respected, forms the backbone of the band's rebellious spirit.
One of the band's musical backgrounds is Japanese garage rock from the 1990s. The band's greatest defining feature is their undulating groove, which blends with the emotions of the members and impacts the audience. The powerful rhythm ensemble unleashed by this primitive three-piece imbues their music with lightning-like power.
It can also be said that the concept of not succumbing to genres when creating music brings a unique energy to Akabane's music.
