1月3日生まれ、福井県吉田郡出身の女性ヴォーカリスト。オペラ歌手を目指し、仁愛女子高等学校では声楽を専攻。地元のクラブやライヴハウスを中心にヴォーカリストとして活動し、ShadeやYusuke Nakamuraらの作品に参加。その後、アーバン・ジャズ・バンド“BLU-SWING”へ加入し、2008年にメジャー・デビューを果たす。東南アジアでのジャパンフェス出演など海外へも精力的に活躍し、須永辰緒やUyama Hiroto、re:plusほかのレコーディングにも参加。2016年12月に1stソロ・アルバム『CITY LIGHTS』をリリース、往年の日本のシティー・ポップをノスタルジック且つ現代の解釈でカヴァーするこのプロジェクトは世界的なシティー・ポップ・ブームで注目され世界各国の配信チャートを賑わせている。

Born on January 3rd in Yoshida District, Fukui Prefecture, Yuri Tanaka is a female vocalist who initially aimed to become an opera singer, majoring in vocal music at Jin-ai Girls' High School. She began her career performing at local clubs and live houses, participating in works by artists like Shade and Yusuke Nakamura. Later, she joined the urban jazz band "BLU-SWING" and made her major debut in 2008. Actively performing overseas, including at Japan festivals in Southeast Asia, she has also participated in recordings with Tatsuo Sunaga, Uyama Hiroto, and re:plus. In December 2016, she released her first solo album "CITY LIGHTS," covering classic Japanese city pop songs with a nostalgic yet modern interpretation. This project has gained attention during the global city pop boom, topping streaming charts worldwide.

Information
Yuri Tanaka has gained popularity by covering songs from the 1970s and 1980s with a sophisticated light mellow feeling. Her cover album series "CITY LIGHTS" has recorded long hits up to the third volume. Now, her long-awaited first album is set to be repressed on colored vinyl! The album includes 10 tracks covering female vocal songs from the late 70s to early 80s, featuring original artists such as Miki Matsubara, Taeko Onuki, Ami Ozaki, Seri Ishikawa, and Asami Kobayashi.
